OFFICIAL PXC 38 PRESS RELEASE
Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC), the Asia-Pacific’s top MMA organization, returns to Guam for another huge MMA showcase of talent from the US Territory, featuring fighters from California, Hawaii, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines in a night of professional MMA competition. PXC is well-known as a launching pad to The UFC, the world’s top MMA league, and the August 9th Fight Card is stacked with prospects hungry to make a name for themselves in the sport by climbing the PXC rankings!
PXC is back with their 38th installment of the Asia-Pacific’s top Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event to be held on August 9th in Guam, USA. PXC has dominated the regional MMA scene with stellar events produced over the last 9 years, and made big news in 2011 with international expansion to the Philippines and a broadcast deal that made PXC one of the top MMA promotions in the world.
With less than two weeks away for Pacific X-treme Combat 38 to get underway…the action is about to get intense as Saipan’s top MMA fighter today, Frank “the Crank” Camacho, makes his way back to The PXC Cage. “The Crank” has been training under team Llyod Irvin honing his skills for the last four years as a purple belt in Brazilian jui jitsu. However, the Crank has not stepped into the cage since his last fight in 2009 making the question of the night…will Camacho continue where he left off and take home the win or will a little cage rust get the best of him?
His opponent does not make the answer any simpler…known to be a dangerous contender and highly-ranked Japanese light weight, Koshi Matsumoto. Matsumoto is undefeated in PXC competition beating Tyrone Jones with a rear naked choke in PXC-36 in his last fight. This demonstrates he is as comfortable on the ground as he is throwing blow for blow. Both fighters have great records: Camacho has 10 wins and 2 losses while Matsumoto is 9 and 4, making this match up pretty equal on paper. These fighters are fighting to prove that they should be considered top contenders in the Lightweight Division and deserve a title shot in the near future.
Definitely not a fight you want to miss…things are about to get crazy, as it all happens on August 9th at the UOG field house when Saipan takes on Japan for honor, glory and a shot to reign supreme in the 155 division.
PXC-38 will once again be hosted at The University of Guam Field House in front of thousands of screaming fans, with Doors Opening by 5:30pm on Friday afternoon.
Tickets are on sale for $30 General Admission at 76 Circle K locations throughout Guam or $50 VIP at Cars Plus in Maite. Both are available online via www.tpiguam.com.
